Naruto lay broken like a twisted rag doll on blood drenched soil, his aquamarine eyes dull and blank as his blood funnelled out of the various gashes and bruises dotting his skin.
The blonde uttered a hoarse chuckle at the turn of events; this wasn’t how it was supposed to have turned out. He should have saved Sasuke , not killed him. He should be at Konoha celebrating the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War along with his friends, not slowly dying alone in some barren wasteland with no one to mourn him.
Naruto chuckled again, of course it was too good to be true. Just when his life was starting to come together, he had to go and die. He had always been afflicted with the most rotten luck.
Within Naruto’s mind Kurama stirred, speaking to the blonde during his final moments.
‘I’m sorry Naruto, sorry that I can’t save you. Argh! If only I hadn’t used the last of my chakra in that Bijuu Dama, I might have had enough left over to heal you…’ muttered the chakra demon with a tone of genuine sadness to his voice.
‘Heh, don’t worry about it Kurama, I guess I was bound to die sometime, eh. Like they say, the good die young.’ though the blonde with a chuckle. Well, even if he was dying, he was consoled by the fact that he had managed to save the shinobi world from Tobi’s, or should he say, Izuna’s grasp.
Naruto slowly turned his attention towards the lifeless body lying beside him and gazed upon Sasuke’s broken form with a tinge of regret, a smile creased across the Uchiha avenger’s face.
Heh, it had taken a life-and-death battle to make the avenger finally reconcile his friendship with the blonde, if only they could live to enjoy the fruits of that friendship.
‘I hope Sakura-chan and the others don’t take my death too harshly, maybe I’ll have my own festival hehe…’ thought the blonde amusingly as the light began fading from his eyes. ‘I wonder………..if………..they have r..r-amen………..in the…..aft-…..ter-lif…..e……..'
With a smile donning his lips and his arm grasping Sasuke’s, Naruto Uzumaki, hero of the shinobi world passed away with a smile on his face. The world would never see a spark like his again…….or would it?

Just a prologue on a time-travel series I'm planning on doing. It's kinda short but it's just a prloogue, chapter's will be much longer from now on.
