Chapter 16: Harbinger
I stared at the titanic beast. It's one red eye stared at me.
"Do you remember me? Do you remember my eyes? I should thank you. You were the catalyst for what I became. But I cannot allow you to bring dominion over this world any longer!" I yelled at the beast.
"Tengen! Are you mad? That creature will tear us apart! We have to get out of here!" Kaguya yelled from behind me. The beast looked at me deeply, then roared as if it answering my question.
"I will not run. I have the powers to stop this thing. Evacuate everybody. Leave it to me. Go tell Uzima to help in the evacuation effort. We will regroup in the next town. Just evacuate everybody," I said. Kaguya and Yuuki ran off to get everybody out. I continued to fix my gaze on the creature. It raised it's hand and with a mighty stroke brought it down. "Shinra Tensei!" I screamed, repelling the beasts hand and forcing it back slightly. I gasped for breath.
"I didn't think it would take that much chakra just to repel you. But I know one thing. You are made of chakra. Chakra I can consume with Gakido."
The beast was surprised for a moment, looking at it's hand then looking at me. It then launched one of it's tails out with such speed I could barely see it.
"Shurado!" I said as I grew an additional four arms that grabbed the tail, stopping it before it could reach me. The beast attempted to pull it's tail back, but I used the incredible strength of the Shurado ability to keep the tail in my grasp. "Gakido!" I said as I began to absorb the chakra from the tail. The beast's chakra flowed through my body and invigorated every muscle. My body began to shake as the immense supply of chakra entered my body. I continued until the entire tail was nothing more then a stump. The Beast screamed in agony as it backed up to see it's wound. I sighed in relief, but suddenly I felt pain throughout my body.
"No, It is too much," I said between gasps, "The chakra will tare me apart!" Suddenly, the beast made a tremendous roar and a new tail sprouted up where the old one was removed. It rushed to attack me, preparing to crush me with it's tremendous palm.
"Mukodo (Way of wood) : Goddess of the Rose Vine," I heard from behind me. As quickly as I had heard it, a vine of thorns whipped out and slashed the Juubi in the center of it's eye. The beast screamed in pain as it's hand completely missed me, striking down the trees far to my side. It grabbed it's eye and rolled over onto it's back as it uttered a blood curdling moan. I turned to see Uzima as the rose vine retracted into her arm.
"Uzima..." I managed to utter.
"Tengen, now it is me who has saved you. Are you okay?"
"The Juubi's chakra is potent in my body, I can't stand it," I replied.
"Don't worry, I will fix that and this menace," she said as trees began to form around me. I felt the chakra of the Juubi vanishing and entering the trees. Another tree grew up behind her and attached to her body. The Juubi chakra entered her body as she performed hand signs. "Mukodo: Infinitely expanding wilderness!" she said. The chakra she absorbed was used to fuel a massive jutsu, as the tallest trees I had ever seen grew up and wrapped around the helpless juubi. The trees and wood ensnared every part of the Juubi and began to suppress it's power. "Wooden seal technique: Goddess of 1000 arms!" Suddenly, the wood began to expand. Wrapping around every inch of the Juubi, leaving none of it's skin shown. "Compact: Wooden Skin suppressing seal! The wood visibly shrunk is size, growing so tight that it became a skin tight shell on the juubi. A massive growth of wooded spikes erupted from it's back as the Juubi's strength became a portion of what it was. It struggled to it's feet and ran away, moving too fast for us to follow.
I got up to my feet and hugged her, and she hugged me back.
"Uzima, I didn't think you were capable of such power. When did you create those techniques?" I asked.
"I didn't like my skill, but I never stopped practicing with it. And when I found that my Mukodo trees can absorb chakra, I developed a way to seal the Juubi, though I wasn't sure how I would gain the chakra necessary," she replied. Kaguya and Yuuki ran up to us.
"We saw everything! Uzima that was incredible!" said Kaguya.
"That's good," I said, but suddenly I blacked out. When I awoke, I was being supported by Yuuki.
"You are pretty beat up Tengen, I will take you to where the villagers are. They will give you medical care," she said.

As Tengen and Yuuki went towards where the others were hiding, Kaguya remained.
"Uzima, how did you know that we would encounter the Juubi?" he asked.
"I didn't," I replied.
"Then why did you make a technique to seal the Juubi?"
"I didn't make it to seal the Juubi," I said as I began looking towards the ground.
"Then why did you make it?" he asked, getting frustrated.
"It was designed.....for Tengen in mind," I said sadly.
"What?! But why would you seal Tengen?"
"Tengen has become so powerful, he is almost god-like. He may have good intentions, but I have seen what happens when an individual has powers that others don't. The emperor gained power and conquered this world with an ability he had over others. Though at first he had good intentions, he became corrupt and power hungry," I replied with my head still down.
"Uzima....why do you know so much about the emperor?," he asked. But I kept my head down and didn't answer. "Uzima....who were you before coming to the orphanage?"
".............I was the Imperial Princess."
