The Rinnegan's visual insight is not on the byakugan or sharingan level.

How in the world did Nagato not see the chakra of the of the hundreds of Naruto clones during the ending phase of his fight with naruto. That was either plot or a severe weakness of the dojutsu itself. The Sharingan or the bykugan would've seen through that trick, but how did the eyes of their god fail to?

Pure plot man. Remember when Pain confronted Tsunade and noticed that she had chakra stored in her feet? He was also able to see the barrier around Konoha and I could have sworn he can see chakra networks as well but that I don't remember as well.

But Pain not seeing chakra in the rocks around him is a plot device since he was able to see chakra in Tsunade's feet.

Dojutsu can see chakra.... transformation jutsu or not it should have been clearly visible.

one of the pains was beaten by konohamaru kage bunshin, rinnegan shoulda been able to see. madara was able to see hashirama or naruto clones from afar and even mention to say i want the real deal. perhaps nagato was not so gud with the eyes

this.....! although one can say that he was focused on naruto's attack and didn't look around since he didn't suspect anything but nevertheless in the end it was plot....!

other than madara sharingan can't distinguish between shadow clones either but both can see chakra in clone so that point is nullified....!

Is that why Rinnengan can read the tablet better than Sharingan? Itachi couldn't see Kakashi underground in early part2. Sasuke failed to notice Jubito attacking Gamakichi/Naruto from underground. Kakashi failed to notice Black Zetsu under Obito and the list go on

It's not plot, it's just that apparently ones chakra network and all that jazz is not visible during the transformation jutsu, when has anyone ever recognized a perfect transformation jutsu thru chakra? Naruto even tricked Neji by leaving a clone of himself on the ground. clones and transformation jutsu's are hard to really see thru, even with dojutsu.

Yikes never mind. I change what I said before cause it's clear that Pain wasn't able to notice the fake FRS being a Naruto. In any case, I think it's strange that Nagato can't see through justus like these
