Yeah I understand that, but your prediction didn't include any fighting between the two (or very minimal). It seemed almost as if Gai was just some fodder thrown in front of Madara to keep him busy whilst the "real" threat against Madara was prepared.

Of the story, I would add more of a shocked reaction of Naruto and Sasuke with the very invasive surgery they are undergoing. Along with a hope that Karin says something like "How does it feel to have your heart stabbed? Huh, how does it feel, PUNK?"
