In the latest episode gai met Fuu , then later on in canon episode where they fought the jinchuuriki Fuu was shown when they defated the beasts , she was on the tentacles of bee , Gai didn't say anything about that. So yeah a little problem

The greater problem I see is the whole 2 and half years no chunin exam thing. The event should actually be biannual so missing 4 should be a really big thing, especially if you consider that it seems no other village held one either. It doesn't make sense to hinder your own shinobi from advancing ranks for several years.

Furthermore Neji was Jonin when Naruto returned but now we get shown that he only advanced to Chunin not even a half year before that? Also there is quite some databook information which doesn't fit in (but oh well that didn't bother Kishi before, because the whole Anko was around during Obito's chunin exam doesn't work out then either).

Gai fought Kisame several times and couldn't remember him. How is not saying anything about a person he just saw at one occation, but never had any real contact, let alone personal bond and/or fight, a problem?
