The Recent Conceptualization of " Plot-Hole" Tobirama & " Foddered" Hiruzen Explained
With the recent chapter, we have seen that Obito is now capable of using the power to erase Ninjutsu meaning he can now kill Edo Tensei bodies. The first proof of this ends up being Minato's arm. The initial reactions seem to be the following.
1. Plot Hole: Tobirama was hit, but regenerated.
2. Hiruzen is gone *insert generic fodder insult*
However, I believe there is a logical reason as to why this has happened.
1. Rikkudo Power Up
As cheap as it sounds, the first part of the explanation would be that with his newfound complete control, his technique evolved to a level even beyond itself. Considering he has taken up the Sage of Six Paths' get up, it could be compared to how a Sage Mode amplifies the abilities of normal jutsu: for example, Naruto's Rasenshuriken going from a hand held hit to a throwing weapon.
2. Rikkudo Power Up: New Technique
With point 1 being said, the new attack may actually be the original attack upgraded, or a new attack that revolves around the same premise of black chakra; nevertheless, I shall continue.
First let's look at the attack that hits Hiruzen
Secondly, we will observe the technique that blitzed Tobirama
With this complete, I will point out some traits.
1. The attacks are all shaped as some form of prism: Against Hiruzen it was like a bell shape or maybe something akin to the heavy blunt part of Hanzo's Kusogama sickle blade. Tobirama's was a series of circles that had a spike at the tip.
2. The Attacks came by first pulling back and pushing through Obito's hands (one could compare it to say a bungee chord).
Now focus on the attack that hit Minato
With that I shall again make some points.
1. Obito has evolved
2. Instead of an indefinite shape, the black sphere is now an Orb
3. In addition, judging by Obito's hand swipe, he did not phase the sphere through his hand as the angle would not result in him cutting only Minato's arm off....where the back of his hand would.
4. When Minato teleports, the attack follows.
5. As we saw later on, the attack actually exploded
Conclusions
Comparing the differences, we see some of the following
1. Unlike Minato, Tobirama and Hiruzen's encounters came from oddly shaped objects while Minato's came from a defined Sphere.
2. Unlike Minato, Tobirama and Hirzuen's damage came as a result of Obito morphing the attack through his hands....Minato taking it from a stable position.
3. Unlike Minato, Tobirama and Hiruzen's black chakra did not have explosive effects.
With the analysis on the formation, delivery method, and stage it was used in, I would conclude that at the very least the attack that hit Minato was an advanced or more controlled method of the original attack, if not a new attack in and of itself.
As a final example of how this is a new or at least advanced form of the technique let's look at a new page from today
Since the new pages aren't exactly available on Google images just yet, you can click on the link, but I will describe the image. In the new chapter we saw that the Orbs that floated behind Obito had actually been knocked away from him; however, the page shows that they are now flying back to him. This would be like an advanced form of the Black Chakra moving through Obito's hand like a bungee chord. Two pages later, we see that the Orbs have re-aligned themselves in their original positions.
With that, I would conclude that the ability that has damaged Minato, is either an advanced/perfected form of the original attack, or simply a new attack using the same chakra color that is now accessible to due to the control Obito now has. As a result, Tobirama and most likely Hiruzen would be fine where Minato could really use a hand
