Both characters are terrible in general, both Karin's and Sakura's motivations are completely flawed as they are and are the EXACT same thing!:

By now, you should have picked up on what both of their motivations are.....

But if I had to give the cake on which one is more poorly written, it's Karin. Her character is built on nothing else than just her affection towards Sasuke and that's it. It may not be by much, but Sakura is better character than Karin.

she healed sasuke several times. saved his life a few times with her healing. saved his skin during the killer bee fight. helped out in his fight with danzo. was a great asset to sasue because of her sensing ability which she used to find danzo. she also 1 shotted the wooden statue that zetsu controlled, which turns out she can fight just like sakura/tsunade just not on there level.
