first -> Madara didn't attacked the leaf while itachi was alive because he knew that itachi was stronger than "Tobi".

2nd -> he had to hide some secrets from itachi himself , because if he knew everything , tobi himself would already been dead by itachi.

check the images, the shield gets bigger too, Itachi's defense is the only said ultimate defense that has never been penetrated. The sword however has been survived by Orochimaru, or part of him.

You stated that Madara was alive during Itachi's prime, when he died when itachi was like 2-3 years old.
I brought up the whole Pain and Jiraiya thing because you said that if Itachi knew all of Obito's secrets, he would be dead.
I simply said that this logic doesn't work because that can apply to any match up :F
