The reason sauske is not my favorite

I like sauske, but he is a type of person who doesn't really care about you, he only cares for his goals. During part one he was more friendly so I really liked him.

Naruto on the other hand, would help you if your in need and will show a positive attitude.

It is clear that sauske is a genius but he is genius that only cares for himself and no one else. If you were in need sauske may not help you as readily as naruto would,

I guess since my own past and experience in middle and elementary school was similar to part one naruto, since I came from another country. So his story resonated with me and I started loving this character because he represented me.

Sauske represented the kids who's mom would send to "Gate" classes or enrichment classes sometimes mean to anyone below them. So I never liked that type of personality.

Naruto may not be the smartest, but I like his attitude because he wants us to know that if we try we can accomplish everything.

Lastly Naruto has a stronger heart than sauske because he never became evil.

Everything you've noted about Sasuke is at the surface of his character.

I agree that Naruto is easier to understand and identify with, which is probably why he was my favorite at first.

But I've grown to admire Sasuke's single-mindedness, determination, and selflessness.

Fanboyism, haters and trash debates are like polotics--all of it sums down to hypocrisy, foolishness and no one trying to wipe their own trash off of their eyes.
I'm a Naruto fan between the two mainly because of character and fighting style--and I admit I wasn't all that fond of Sasuke for a while until he joined the Juubi fight--but in total I hold them both as equals.

My PERSONAL favorites are Obito (Kamui, mostly), Hashirama (made me see him as an adult Naruto when he was revived in pt. II) and Rock Lee (since his Gaara fight) but I acknowledge EVERYONE'S feats, prowess, potential AND flaws--that includes both Naruto and Sasuke.

What made me respect Sasuke was:
1) His synergy (I guess you can call it that) with Naruto and Sakura for the one issue where Kishi "re-lived" the idea that Naruto (toad) Sasuke (snake) and Sakura (slug) were the disciples of Jyraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade. I waited a long time for a fight like that.
2) Synergy with Naruto while fighting the Juubi--perfect examples are the Susano'o cloak around Kurama and the Amaratsu/Rasenshuriken combo--two more examples I wanted to see
3) ONE OF THE 2 BIGGEST AND MOST IMPORTANT, HIS RINNEGAN
-People went into an uproar after Madara pulled it out and said that Sasuke would get it--and though it seemed likely, it just didn't fit for me. BUT Kishi fixed that
-Only one eye: it made it seem balanced and non broken--having the abilities and neccessity to beat their foe while not having two Rinnegan and be OP rather than just P.
-It was a Tome Rinnegan (a personal favorite). Not only did he just have one Rinnegan--it was a UNIQUE Rinnegan--wich made it more badass, more original and made it actually fit Sasuke (undoing my previous pessimism)
4) His denial of the world order and taking things into his own hands after Kaguya's defeat was no surprise, but still a disappointment. And his logic was more... well.. LOGICAL and understandable than his previous and more "pouty" logic after learning of Itachi's fate. Additionally, it kept the "shinobi shrouded in darkness and misunderstanding" that he had before while being more relate-able. You could see the flaws in his logic but you can understand how/what he was feeling as well as why. Basically, he was now a misunderstanding adult rather than a misunderstanding, rampaging child. Then after the Naruto fight, he was knocked more towards the right path and gained more empathy (something Naruto had much more--and was exactly the lesson Naruto was trying to share and Sasuke needed).

Yeah--I came back from a flame thread and posted my opinions on comparing the two evenly and how Sasuke climbed up the ladder for me at the end of part 2. In the spirit of balance and being unbiased, I believe I'll share it here too. Trolls are gonna troll (not targeting the OP) but I guess people just have to endure.

actually, that is Sasuke's character in a nutshell. Sasuke can never be said to be selfless, otherwise there wouldn't be a list of ppl he's been inconsiderate towards. Selfless ppl are the exact opposite of inconsiderate, hence the "less" coming after "self".
