Lol exactly what I was referring to when it came to Shonen manga.

I agree but it also had something to do wih minato slashing him making him break the seal. Plus madara used some of the black rods too deflect amaterasu weakening the control.

I agree and thought about this too, but nonetheless, he was already beaten up pretty badly, without this motivation, he wouldn't have been able to pull it off.
