I think that naruto and sasuke were separated so they could show the true extent of their current powers then obito will find a way to get sasuke back later

but this actually does go with the whole Indra and ashura thing naruto has teammates and sasuke is fighting alone but they need to seal her together

Obito definitely has a purpose. Which I think will be to save sasuke. But I don't know what purpose kakashi has let alone sakura other than cheering naruto, sasuke and obito on.
