This is a major difference in translation. The FTG speed for clones may still be instant, but the Nidaime Hokage and Yodaime Hokage must have known to do the switch, they needed their real bodies for one reason. If they did use clones, the clone would surely "poof" after getting hit with Naruto and Sasuke's attack.

There are clones that even bleed and doesn't poof easily..Look at hiruzen's clone here catching Hashi. It did not poof when being hit..It even bleeds.

I believe that since they are dealing with something so fast that they themselves have trouble hitting, they needed their original bodies for proper synchro..If they are dealing with just humans, clones are enough

yeah that's right.. all clones don't go poof right away.. Naruto KM for instance... It only matters chakra density or how much concentration their given from the original.. Plus Minato has KCM as well .. but its a nice analysis.. or observation.
