The rabbit chakra demon either escaping/fleeing or not depends if Kishi wants to use it in Manga further plot or no.

However The manga didn't exclude this possibility as clearly rabbit as chakra demon was shown moving downwards increasing distance between Gedo mazou and him, just like other tailed beasts chakra then Rabbit gave us it's fishy smirk then spit Madara out then was never shown on panel while Tailed beasts were shown, then they got brought back by Hagoromo with help of others spirit kages.

I don't say it MUST happen or IT HAPPENED however it is possibility.Also the way we weren't see whole sealing process from the begining to creation of full moon without any breaks gives it chance to happen.

Anyway Rabbit will not do anything in manga because Kishi wants to wrap it up and finish it. However Kishi would give Kaguya's justice and brought her third time to life in Naruto movie "The last" or other movie, so Kaguya will show what she has learnt from her previous mistake and maybe adapt her fighting style to shinobi, including strategy and tactics.
