Or you can divide the 500 passengers and place them on both boats and fix their boat. Duh. Derp. Thus, letter "A" fixing the boats and avoiding all the conflict.

Heres the question:

Your are stranded in the middle of the ocean on a ship that has 500 passengers and the boat is sinking there are 2 other boats 200 passengers board on one the 300 board the other then both boat notice the boat is sinking again.you tell everyone on the boat with the 300 passengers you can fix it and so they allow you fix it but then the boat with the 200 passengers threaten to kill you if you dont fix there boat know heres what you can do.

A)fix there boat
B)kill everyone

If you chose A you realize that 100 more people died for fixing the boat with the 200 passengers.
And if you chosen B then after you kill everyone you realize that a cruise ship has pass by them and help them then realizing you kill the boat with the 200 passengers what do you do?

A)try to get help
B)commit suicide

If you chosen A you realize by get help you die regardless know that police will kill a murderer.
And if you chosen B then yo just escape a painful death from god.

So would you say the more or the fewer choice is yours to make.

Tell boat with 200 to keep bailing water, fix the boat with 300 and recruit help to fix the boat with 200. The boat with 200 will not kill you in fear of killing the only engineer with actual knowledge of fixing the problems. Boats those size have life rafts, which is another option, using the life boats from all the boats you can save one or more populace while working on atleast one of the boats.

the other option would be to evac the 200 passengers to the boat with 300. Boats and other vehicles never load up to their maximum, and carry enough provisions to sustain passengers longer than the voyage.

Being stranded in the middle of the Ocean is one of my biggest fears.

The 200 wouldn't kill me, if they did, they have no chance of escaping. Their best bet would be to shut up and plot against the other group to try and steal the boat. They know only 300 fit and they're less, so which option is best for them? Kill their only hope ir kill what stands between them and a fixed boat?
If they're wise, they wouldn't kill me. I'm not taking away their chance of survival. Think about it.
