Ohnoki and Chiyo can't defeat hiruzen if they were put together in their primes and the death reaper seal was the only tech appropriate at the time he was facing 2 edo's and a somewhat immortal psychopath and it was already said that before his death he was the most powerful Kage which included ohnoki, A, yagura/ Mei/ and the 4th Kazekage and he would have used more kagebushin to seal them but only could perform 2 with his current chakra level and which is why he used them to seal the edo's duhh...it was the most useful tech in that situation nothing else could have been done and u haven't seen any other non uchiha sealing tech that doesn't require the life of the user so wtf are u talking about a suicidal tech everyone of the sealing techs have been suicidal except for itachi's totsuka sword so...

So on the broader scale of things every sucks except for hashi, lol jk but seriously, Whatever seals he knew besides the death reaper may have been viable to be countered by ORO, since ORO was his pupil and probably learned many of Hiruzen's seals. Many things could have gone into the reasoning behind him using DRS.
