It's easy pit K11 against each other because they possess small arsenals due to most of them being full-blooded whatever they are. They posses a single KKG or family technique i.e. Shikamaru and Shadow techniques, Shino and Insect techniques, Choji and Body Transfomation techniques, etc.

The new generation is much more balanced due to their expansive arsenals and abilities. Though some characters' potential are probably hindered thanks to a parent i.e. Sarada's Haruno blood and Cho-cho's Karui blood

Boruto - 50% Hyuuga, 25% Uzumaki, 25% Namikaze
Sarada - 50% Uchiha, 50% Haruno
Mitsuki - 50% of whatever Orochimaru is (or maybe 100% from being born of his DNA?)
Shikadai - 50% Nara, 50% Temari (sister of Gaara, so that must give him some genetic benefits)
Inojin - 50% Yamanaka, 50% Sai (Super Beast Imitation Drawing, which is useful)
Cho-cho - 50% Akimichi, 50% whatever Karui is

I dont think genes are important. Most of the Leafs jutsu are secret clan techniques that anyone could learn. Kakuzo stole his techniques from a secret clan.
