Actually Apex is right. All the other Gates could probably kill Gai but his body tires out quickly due to the strain. When Gai is in 8gates he fights to he die this is the reason why he can keep it up longer. Also after using techs in 7th gate Gai quickly tuned normal.

Also by your logic using Midday tiger is more exhausting than EE since he shot multiple EE while in 8th gates and shot one MT while and 7th gate and he passed out.
