Naruto and Sasuke were equals doesn't mean they would always be. wasn't it already made 100% clear that NAruto wasn't as strong as he should be so his performance wasn't anything unexpected. Kinshiki took him and the next thing we see is him pinned to the God tree having his chakra absorbed. Sasuke on the other hand still honed his abilities and witheld the Rin'negan powers. I'm not trying to make this into Naruto vs Sasuke but somethings should be clear

This movie is called Boruto for a reason. Plot had to step in to let Boruto shine, otherwise an unnerfed Naruto would make quick work of them. It's not the first he's been nerfed/hindered before a major fight.

You're forgetting that Hashi's Senpo techniques are super haxed! Wooden dragon alone was able to fodderise Kyuubi within minutes and Naruto fought Momoshiki using Bijuu Mode who Madara fodderised it with a wooden dragon!

Naruto/Sasuke relied mostly on their taijutsu and they had their reflexes and speed enhanced...
