Think about the following facts:

The Sage created the tablet in the Uchiha shrine and wrote down all it's secrets right?

The Sage's mask was found in the Uzumaki temple.

Why did the Reaper appear when Orochimaru LOOKED at the Uchiha tablet THROUGH the mask?!

Why was one of the strongest sealing jutsu's of the Uzumaki clan completely undone thanks to that mask and the tablet?!

Make the connection.....it's not that hard.

Also, this is another piece of solid evidence linking the Sage's heritage to the Uzumaki clan!

Hyuga: Their clan symbol appears on page 8 in the top left corner (the picture where Sasuke looks ominously shaded while removing his cloak)
Senju: Zetsu clones (Senju DNA) are used as hosts....brings back two Senju members

The manga called it the sages mask? Pretty sure it would have kept in the cloud village if it was. But seeing as how it wasn't im going too say I doubt the sage created the mask rather another uzumaki decent before they left their village. As for why the shikigami appeared pretty sure it has too do with the **** ton of chakra orochimaru released after putting on the mask activating the masks ability too summon the technique attached too the mask, like the other unique items of the series.

I hadn't noticed that at all. Although the Senju DNA seems a bit circumstantial, but it's still plausible..

That wasn't chakra he released, it was the Shinigami manifesting. And why was there a need to go and stand in front of the tablet? You are being naive.

Orochimaru looked directly at the tablet while standing in front of it through the mask! That's how the Shinigami manifested!

How would Oro loose control? By putting pressure on Kage, do you mean he would urinate on them?
