It's simply because, Izanami would one shot the **** out of him. No joke. The moment he comes into contact with blind Madara (as Sasuke did last chapter), Itachi completes the preparations and one shots him. There is no escape. Kishi knew this, so he took him out of the equation before Itachi done end the manga

But everyone just assumes Madara gets blitzed or caught in Itachi's wonderous and supposed unbeatable ultimate Izanami or Tosuka Blade Yata mirror etc. Make these comparisions after the fight when we see all madara has to offer. Until then everything is just spectulation.

True. But we don't know exactly what he has been doing all these years. We know he sent Obito out into the world to impersonate him but during that time Madara could have been like Orochimaru and gather all sorts of new and forbidden justsu. He has been around a very long time. Who know's what else he has up his sleeve. Plus for all we know his absorbing justu could be a result of Hashirama's cell as Mokuton absorbs chakra like how it effects the bijuu, or maybe it's an unknown residual effect from having the Rinnegan...Who knows. I'm sure Kishi will explain it at some point though.

But would you actually want to see this happen? I mean think about it. You wait an entire week for an epic fight and in page one Madara gets 1 shoted by said technique and then that's it. Wouldn't that make for an extremely short chapter and boring read?
