The curse mark is a crude form of senjutsu chakra.
Also, jugo gave him chakra to activate the zetsu seeds on him, and he healed him against bee. Coincidence?

He also needs this powerup to be on naruto's level, because, no matter what fanboys think, he's still weaker atm.
