[Discussion] The ONLY con about Luffy.

He always intentionally picks the most dangerous route, thus risking his crewmates' lives tenfold. Zoro, Sanji, Franky, and Brook never seem to care, but Nami, Chopper, and Usopp cry their eyes out when Luffy does that. They even beg him to reconsider, but he just laughs and ignores them.-_-
Luffy is awesome and all, but really? Risking your friends' lives like nothing is bogus. He must be over-confident in his ability to protect them.

Luffy is one of those character you can help but like. Luffy always picks the dangerous routes simply because of the thrill of adventure not because of the risk behind it. Luffy is not over confident of protecting his friends more of the opposite, Luffy has that much fate in his friends strength and believes they can overcome any situation that comes their way.

Well they all did train very hard for 2 yrs to be able to handle the New World.

Nami, Usopp & Chopper have always been like that lol. Its just their plot. Imagine if the whole crew was fearless...that would be soo lame and a drag
