or he could have died in the uchiha massacre if he were to somehow be alive or was edo tensei'd he would know a lot.
obito could have been lying to sasuke about tobirama or twisting the truth to manipulate sasuke
hiruzen said that the uchiha were comrades in arms and tobirama was his sensei

I think the one who knows everything might possibly be Uchiha Izuna, the brother to MAdara and co leader of the Uchiha during their wars against the Senju who would know the truth about what is going on.
it also makes sense because Obito is a direct descendant of Madara, Itachi and Sasuke could be his brother's descendants and that may be why they are the most mentally stable Uchiha we see in the manga.

i think the uchiha ancestor itachi was talking about is related to madara and was the first leader of the police force and itachi's parents are related to them to, since their the leaders as well
