Re: The "Next Generation Always Surpassing The Previous Generation" Theme...

Kishi has been largely inconsistent with this theme, look at Hashirama and his Hokage successors (save for Naruto) much like the theme of overcoming destiny in part 1 which has largely been contradicted in part 2 with the child of prophecy and the Ashura reincarnation thing. Kishimoto is just an inconsistent and self-contradicting writer.

The theme of destiny was never contradicted, you just failed to understand it properly.

- Surpass doesn't necessarily mean power. Naruto surpassed Hagoromo in uniting the world. Both Naruto and Sasuke surpassed their clan's ancestors Indra and Ashura.

- Generation doesn't always surpass the previous. Sarada won't be stronger than Sasuke. Every Senju is a fodder compared to Hashirama. Ay didn't surpass 3rd Raikage.

So no, they didn't rape the logic. :)

Actually the world was united by a common enemy. This was stated in the series.

Not sure if it's actually a theme. It wasn't mentioned that much. The actual theme for Naruto is accepting help from others to better yourself and taking strength from others. However, if "old surpassing the new" was a theme, then the thing that destroyed it was transmigration, meaning you're taking strength from the previous generation.

However, Naruto and Sasuke obviously surpassed Ashura and Indra. Therefore, it was maintained.

The tailed beast = Kaguya's chakra.

Sasuke's rinnigan = power given by Hagoromo.

Naruto and Sasuke's ultimate powers are from an older generation.

At least Toneri wasn't massively inferior to his ancestors. But that's because he's not mixed with human blood.

I still don't understand why people are still citing it as the Ootsutsuki clans power rather than simply Kaguya's exploit of something ON EARTH. Hagoromo, Hamura, Kaguya. Their pure power stems directly from the Shinju's fruit and it came from Earth. It had nothing to do with their natural superiority to the normal human in the Narutoverse because it was never like that. Kaguya wasn't that powerful from birth. She got it from the fruit. And Hagoromo/Hamura leeched off the fact that Kaguya did such a thing. Yes, they did inherit such power and it's tied to them, but that doesn't make them naturally superior. If anything, it'd be more of a birthright to normal humans because the Shinju was on Earth and Kaguya came to Earth for that.

Chapter 679 shows that no human body could handle having all the world's chakra. That is most likely the reason why the fruit was forbidden to eat. DB also states that Kaguya was born with the Byakugan. So they do have naturally better genetics and there is also the fact their technology is more advance.

No, 679 did not prove that at all. Madara inflating like that was because of Kaguya's will overtaking him.

Sasuke says it here.

Sasuke even wondered how a person with so much chakra could even exist.

I think they're referring to the ninjas and not the aliens ones.

Naruto And Sasuke haven't surpassed nor will surpass kaguya.

This post tells the answer on your curiosity.

The theme of destiny was never contradicted, you just failed to understand it properly.

It's called wrenches in fiction, and unpredictability. The notion of Naruto, if not being predestined, being foreordained to be great makes it feel like he had divine intervention forcing his rise out of his situation, rather than it being raw, unassisted grit.

It's that simple. The stuff doesn't take away from the actual, quantity of determination that he has, but it gives the impression it was less important.

No it doesn't. The theme involving destiny was that if one did not like their destiny, they could change it with hard work. Where was that contradicted within child of prophecy? The only reason Naruto was able to fulfill the prophecy was because he worked hard, so it only strengthens the theme.
