Knowing Kishimoto It's probably gonna be Flashbacks and at the end of the chapter Gai opens the 8 Gates.

To be honest, i have a feeling that kishi will have Gai show that he's about to go 8 gates but Naruto or someone else might show up stopping him from activating it.
I mean it's been like that when Minato was about to use his
Rasen senkou chourinbu kousanshiki.

I think Kishimoto has let go of too many good characters already, I don't think Guy is going to die. He either doesn't go 8 gates, or he does do the 8 gates and just barely survives somehow.

Too many? It's freakin' war! Besides Neji and Shikamaru's dad... everyone else was expendable. Not enough people have died. I can name a few that should go.. Tsunade, Kakashi, Onoki, Obito and Gai.

But I want all 3 (Kakashi + Gai + Obito) to either die or survive the war, not just one or two. If Gai and Obito were to die Kakashi would truly end up without a single friend. I mean a true friend, not just his pupils or comrades.

And Gai doesn't deserve to die. He is one of the most hard working ninjas in the NV, it should pay off atleast.
