i dunno for sure...but looking at the content at this moment ...i would say only "contest" section news...

Seems so. Bit of a waste of space if you ask me, but maybe more important to those partaking in these contests.
Anyway, I do think it is a good replacement for what was there earlier.

i dunno for sure...but looking at the content at this moment ...i would say only "contest" section news...

It's for Forum News, we can pretty much add any thread to it we want, though most of the time it will be used to advertise contests as there aren't really that much other threads we seem useful enough to be put up there.

What used to be there was a complete waste of space. That Hottest Thread stuff had been a thorn in my side for a long time now. We already had Most Popular Threads, so it was redundant + a lot of people just posted crappy threads to get into the Hottest Threads. Not to mention trolling threads often succeeded in ending up there. However it's much more difficult to do that with the Popular Threads this week and advertising contests is definitely not a waste of space.

We can add other threads to it, however we only have 5 slots and we are not planning to add 3rd rate theories or VS threads or RP battles to it, though that doesn't take away that if we would really find on a rare occasion an excellent theory or an RP Tournament thread or something we might add it.

I found it a well thought out tactic. That way, the staff is capable of advertising their contests so more people will be aware of them, and in the end there will be more contestants. Good job, guys.

Oh well, I was looking to stuff about the site such as technical info, though I suppose such changes do not happen as often and if there are only five slots:shrugs: as I said, to me, whom doesn't partake in contests, it's not anything interesting and I won't pay any more attention to it than before, but for those whom do, great!
