He was the leader of the uchiha clan during the massacre (that means he must be pretty OP), maybe after itachi stabbed him, he activated izanagi and manages to survive. He later had a son with an unknown woman and begins tracking sauce and itachi's progress. After sasuke killed itachi and gained much more power, fugaku decided to stop trailling sasuke because sasuke can find out who he was. There he waited till his blonde son grew up and continue the search for him. TY
