Sannin isn't an actual title. It was given by Hanzo to show his respect for Tsunade, Jiraiya and Orochimaru.
So unless someone else decides to give Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke the title Sannin (which I doubt because those three aren't even fighting together), it isn't going to happen.
I think Naruto and Sasuke surpassed their sensei, or are close to surpassing them and Sakura is almost there. I dislike her personality intensely and her actions, but her healing is good and she can be useful in a fight if she puts her mind to it. She just needs an extra push to be on par with Naruto and Sasuke (or two extra pushes, whatever)

It is indeed based on the Sannins' story, but that doesn't mean they are going to inherit that title. Sannin was just a name given by Hanzo to express his respect, it's not like the title of Hokage that can be given to others.
