It's not like they haven't fought a real threat for years or anything. It's not like a fuinjutsu was used, which was invented by a top-tier and for the most part can affect top-tiers indiscriminately easily like Death God.

Edit: If they use big jutsu, they risk the kid's danger. Which, isn't a slight against the villains, as it's natural to use hostages. If they try to kill the villains, they lose a great source of information about the new threat that might not even be just them. Kamui's already shown it can deal with all top-tiers.
