The necessity of the moon in the eye of the moon plan and flat earth?

How necessary is the moon really in the eye of the moon plan?
And is the naruto world flat, rather then a spherical planet?

Kaguya is supposed to have cast infinite tsukuyomi in the past, however there wasn't a moon until it was created to seal her in it. Was her tsukuyomi limited to only the people in the limited area around her? In the filler about her she summoned a moon from another dimension i guess, i don't know how else to see it.

And also is the naruto world flat? cause night and day seems to be the same in every place of what we know as the naruto world and though the infinite tsukuyomi light shines through everything it doesn't make sense to go to the daylight side where the daylight should overpower the IT light, but if the naruto world is a sphere we haven't seen anything yet, we've only seen basically japan or whatever of the naruto world.

To explain however how Mugen Tsukuyomi works with all that considered is beyond me. It wouldn't be the first time I'd had to lift my suspension of disbelief for the sake of this series anyway.

The moon is only necessary for madara or obito at least. The manga implied kaguya used the byakugan to trap people in MT.
The naruto world isn't flat either.

The light from the moon traps everyone (why you need Rinnegan with the Juubi--the Rinne Sharingan does that) as well as the Juubi (chakra needed to o it as well as the tree in its true form).

The Rinne-sharingan reflects light onto the entire region (maybe planet, IDK), everyone hit by the light is trapped in the tree (to keep the dream going) as well as emmense chakra to cast it.

Kaguya was seperate from the tree at first (so it just did its thing from the start since no Juubi transformations) & since she had more chakra than anyone I GUESS she didn't need the moon (also why she already had the RS & didn't need to be the Juubi--she almost WAS the Juubi). Also she was way up into the sky (IF that has anything to do with it). A normal person needs the Rinnegan to awaken the RS (Kaguya's eye), be a Juubi Jinchuriki (for the chakra), expell the tree outside the body (to use it as Kaguya did) and use the moon (to empower it due to being normal, not Kaguya) & Kaguya's chakra (as before).

You might be overthinking this. IT probably only covered that half of the planet as it was night time there and the moon was out. The other half of the planet was probably unaware what was going on until nightfall on their half of the planet and then they too, were trapped in IT.

In the case of Kaguya, I don't remember if it was stated she trapped the entire world in IT or just that country. I can't remember exactly. And how she did it without the moon (in the manga at least) I'm not even going to think about it.

Ever since the war arc rules, physics, restrictions, laws of nature in the Narutoverse went right out the window so I've given up on trying to understand every little happenstance and loophole created by Kishi's goal to end it by chapter 700.

What you're saying doesn't make sense though, the whole light show took maybe 10 minutes or so after which it ended and naruto and crew could go outside susanoo.
