I've always wondered...

Is the map that we see in Naruto their whole world or what? I get that it may just be the ninja/samurai world but then you have to wonder...what the heck does the rest of the world do? Especially if you read the manga, why aren't the rest of the world getting involved with this?
America should just drop an a-bomb on the situation already...

But then there's probably no America...

Or is there? Who knows?...

Seriously, who knows?

If that's the whole world it seems kind of small really.

No, I think it's just like Japan or something. Made up area Kishi made.

Yeah interesting question.
I've made a similar thread wondering about things regarding Narutoworld...

It's the entire Naruto World. Thus the name, the "Ninja World" or "Naruto World". It may be a little smaller than expected, but those Great Nations could actually have a size similar to a continent. There's no America, the Ninja World doesn't include actual countries/lands of Earth. The World setting was all created by the writer, Masashi Kishimoto.

The land setting is quite weird though, ninja can pass through them in a matter of days.

It's a whole different Earth. Like what Dragon Ballz had.
-It would be cool if what land we see in Naruto was on one side of the globe and on the other are pirates from One Piece :D

Yeah that's what I'm getting at it can't be all that big if they travel whole countries in days.
Ninja may be fast but they don't go full speed the whole time it should take way longer.

Also I don't think America would be a part of it it's just weird that there's never mention of anything else(canonically)
Even the map...surely it's not a perfect rectangle like that so where's the rest :S

Unless they could fall off the edge...

It could be on a smaller planet than Earth. .-.

It isn't possible to draw a sphere (globe) showing all content on the same image. Which is why maps are usually made as a rectangle, which is what Kishi did there. Take this picture of Earth as an example:

That is a map of Earth as a rectangle, and it has been proven that one cannot "fall off the edge of the earth". It's the same for the Naruto Map.

But look at the right side and compare it to the left, it doesn't fit together so there's clearly more...
Unless somehow the coast is a perfect line which would just be strange.

The lands of iron and sand seem to branch off on to a bigger part of their world.

Do Obito and Madara intend to cast genjutsu on everything past that map or just solely the ninja world? The ninja world is always talked about like it's not the only "world" on their planet, so it makes sense that the rest of the world would also stir up trouble

If the shinobi clans of the past all fought amongst themselves for control of the land that fight should have encompassed everything.
Perhaps the rest is just uninhabitable.

Good observation. ^^
Then again, the manga/anime is about Ninja, so there wouldn't be any mention of "regular persons" even if there are any. Or the map wasn't fully thought through.
