There's a difference between recognizing that there is white privilege in the world(Which i believe still exist to some degree), and using it as an excuse for the reason the black communities like drug torn projects or ones in chicago/detroit are failing.

Yes but what percent of whites have those living conditions as opposed to a minority? Having a "privilege" doesn't forbid you from having the same hardships as everyone else, it just makes it more unlikely.

White privilege is pretty non-existent in America these days. Those who still cling to it want to for whatever personal reason. There are countries though that it is still greatly impacted by it.

People believe that if you're born white, you're automatically set, and that isn't true. BUT the link you posted has a lot of false information on it. I'm pretty sure he was talking about the Harlem Renaissance and during that era there weren't that many blacks moving into middle class, believe it or not, whites wouldn't even let them move, every seen "raisin in the sun"? And for the ones that did move, they were terrorized and told to get out. And the ones that were making enough money to even consider moving, were either pimps, or drug dealers, blacks didn't have that many jobs to be able to move, because they didn't have decent jobs. And plus this is a couple of years after the great depression, not that many people had money back then. I'm from a black family who, luckily for me, do not depend on government aid, although I have many friends who do.

And also this guy said having no dad is born out of government dependency, which isn't true. I know many people who depend on government aid, and still have their fathers in their lives. And I know people without fathers in their lives, who do not commit crime.

And he talks about blacks overcoming slavery, just as how the Jews overcame the Holocaust. Well in a way blacks overcame slavery over 200 years ago. They were given jobs in politics,etc. But that was directly after the civil war ended, and then after an election(I forgot who) they took northern soldiers out of the South, and thus the KKK rose, and threatened blacks out of politics, and all the government jobs given to them. Which is one of the first reasons why my race is in the hole it's now in. When most nations released their slaves they gave them something to live on, whether it was land, money, etc. But with America, they basically said "You're free, now go".

Although what I also noticed is that out of every ten black people, only about 3 or 4 of them actually try to get themselves out the hole they're in. The other 7 or 6, either complain about being in the hole, or unwittingly dig deeper into it. Sadly..

That article was part of the Houston chronicle, I lived in houston for a few years and white privilege is definitely real down there. I hate articles like this.

Not to mention his opening paragraph about how "I know racism still exist", all of the examples are examples of white privilege.

It's gonna take longer for America to transition from the slavery mentality. African Americans were slaves for more than 200 years, that's not shit as a society that you can easily move past. Even psychologically it still affects both white and black Americans...

...and really I've noticed America is the only country so focused on race. Like in Belgium the darker skinned people are still considered belgium instead of "African Belgium" or whatever. Any other country I've been too it seems like people don't really care about race too much, it's just America.

Yea, I think the projects are a big factor in the reason why black communities are the way they are. It makes them sort of ignorant I suppose, and lazy too. Not all but a whole lot of them.

There is no privilege, there are select racists, but that isn't a privilege of being white.

No there is no difference. The very act of declaring white privilege, undermines white acomplishments, and puts the blame on whites instead of the blacks themselves

Thats individual racism, thats not white privilege. Blacks can just as easily but a store and follow people around, or become a cop and abuse their power. Stop blaming the white race for that.

Black cops do abuse their power. And some things have long term effects. Although I do agree with you that they need to stop using it as an excuse, cause it pisses me off as well. But did you not read my post? What America did wrong with slavery that no other nation has done, was 1- When they made them slaves, they took away their identities, forced a religion upon them, and separated their family members. And 2- When they set the slaves free, they just said "You're free, now go". Other nations gave their slaves something to live on, gold, acres of land, etc. America didn't do that.

This society is racist(against immigrants more thank blacks in my opinion), and sexist(Against men more than women nowadays), and homophobic.
