So i was looking back in some manga to try and dig up some hints kishi said through tobi that might make sense with what we know now. Personally i think tobi is either (No specific order)
A. Izuna
B. Kagami (Theres better kagami theorys but heres a little something of some evidence i found.)
C. Madara Someway Somehow spilt because of this.
This probabley means that tobi wanted it for him in general to ethier revive uchila clan but i doubt that why would he get itachi to kill them in the first place or with what Madara said in 559. Somehow a part of madara lived on through tobi but ethier his whole or half of his soul went on.
P.S. I found the thing about sasuke being linked with Gedo later Interesting too.
