Haven't you wondered how come that madara's story and hagoromo's are so different? Now you can say that Madara manipulated his story to fit his plans but I don't think that this is the case. Madara genuinely doesn't know of sage's brother. The interesting part is that he however knows about his mother and in detail to tell you the truth. Moreover, if you check the chapter with Madara's story, the sage is depicted fighting against the Juubi in its first form while in sage's story the Juubi seems to be in its complete form.

From the above I got the conclusion that the sage must have a reason for not speaking about his brother. If you really think about it, apart from his brother, it seems that the rest of the genealogical tree is preety accurate and that's make it even more strange. It's as if the sage never wanted for anyone to learn about him. Or can it be something else? Is it possible that the his brother changed the tablet in order to make himself disappear from the story? Have in mind that it's way easier to act if no one knows about you or even better when they think of you as a dead man. You literally become a living ghost, much like to what happened to Obito.

Ofc, that's only a scenario but it's still interesting to think about these actions.

2 things can come from all this:

1) The sage hated his brother, and thus he left him out of everything, maybe because he indeed became evil later on.

If the sage loved his brother there is no way that he would leave him out from his genealogical tree so this is not a possible scenario.

2) Hagoromo's brother was indeed evil, and I might say that he still is... and being so he chose to be left out of the picture for his own reasons.

Bugs the sh$# out of me that Kishi has left that glaring hole in the story. It is so blatant, it almost has to be a setup for a future twist.

What if he died during the fight against the juubi while it would not. Explain why hagoromo left that part out it probably would not be so important that he needs to tell naruto. But in naruto brothers are important so i doubt he just died either way eventually we will find out

My thoughts exactly.

Even if the sage did not have time to do that, not honoring his brother who fought along with him against the Juubi is just ourageous when you think that in the tablet he wrote about his whole genealogical tree.

There's the possibility that there is more to read in the tablet and the new version of the rinnegan/straight sharingan is needed to read it. Maybe after the wR Sasuke will go back to the tablet and read something Madara wasn't even aware of. It'll be the key to finally achieving peace.

That's in fact very likely indeed.
