You have to have another Sharingan (someone blood-related) to get EMS. He never had a Sharingan to begin with and he isn't an Uchiha, so there is no way for him to get EMS.

Although kakashi is not an uchiha, his sharingan friend gave him his sharingan, therefore the sharingan is now kakashi's. So its only logical that by having a sharingan implanted in ur eyes u can practice with it and use it and train it as if it was urs thats the only logical reason hw kakashi had gained MS. Its not a stretch to say that he can get EMS with further but not overuse of his sharingan

Maybe, an idea here in the open, but maybe he got it the same way Vegeta unlocked his Super Saiyan Transformation, but instead of anger and hatred, maybe Kakashi's motivator was guilt, sadness and all those emotions. Who knows, maybe Kishi got the idea from Dragon Ball Z, we know he was motivated somewhat by Dragon Ball franchise. :shrug:

Its been said that it works best like that, but never said thats 100% necessary. If thats the case why isnt his sharingan going blind and why doesn't his eye bleed when he uses MS? Thats how it works for Uchihas to get EMS but thet already have sharingan. But since implanted eyes after gained MS become EMS, maybe it just worked in different order for him since he wasn't a natural born sharingan user.
