It was the timing of it.
He got emotional and deep with Itachi and Sasuke? During a very pivotal time in the Manga, where we've just see Madara, we've seen Sasuke and Itachi meet for the first time since the 'truth' was exposed and the mystery of Tobi.

I just couldn't get into it.
Had Orochimaru been there and explained Kabuto's past for us, it might of hit me harder.

But it just felt way too forced.
Ah, I guess I do put my feels into something too much at times; like a few weeks ago I had finished watching Scrubs and then I came across the intro song on YouTube. I kinda cried then too.

You can't help it dude, it's natural. It's got nothing to do with how much feels you put into something, it's all about how well you understand the character development and how you then choose to sympathise/empathise with the character. That's what Kishi aims for too. It's what separates a good manga from a bad manga.

1. Kakashi
2. Neji
3. Kabuto
4. Lee
5. Gaara

Naruto and Sasuke aren't worth to feel sympathy over with, they drag too long to the point they're stale as hell and its getting old and annoying. Naruto and Sasuke characterization are ruined

its hard to say, they have all had pretty messed up lives (outta the choices) personally i would have to say i think kakashi or gaara.

kakashi-lost father at young age to suicide for doing the right thing, lost best friend/teammate at young age, had to kill/was forced to kill Rin, and then Minato dies shortly after along with Kushina, whom kakashi probably knew too. now his sensei is back, his teammate is back too but as the ultimate villan, all because kakashi killed Rin...thats a hell of a burden there.

Gaara-similar, had the shikaku forced into him at birth...lost his mother because he was born...was mind****ed by his own father and family into thinking he needed to die and killed his mother....was almost assassinated by his father..and aunt (or uncle, whoever she was he was so close to) just freakin horrible all around....

i mean, sasuke comes close and so does kabuto...but holy crap....

I would say either Gaara, Sasuke or Naruto.

Alright, the others such as Nagato, Sasori, Orochimaru... I mean they lost their parents. Sounds ****ed up in all honesty but Sasori still had his grandmother, Nagato still had his friends and group, Orochimaru was a good guy at first and had his squad.

Danzo was just *****ing because he was a coward but then again wanted people to look up to him as a real ninja. Well putting yourself in his shoes, I'm sure most of you would be scared to die but don't want people to class you as a coward. Obito cried because of his girlfriend. All that's not that big of a deal compared to these three:

Sasuke lost his entire clan, came home to a slaugherfest and thought for years that his brother was a bad guy and did it just because. Imagine your entire family getting killed and you come home to a pile of bodies and your sibling did it "just because". I'm sure you would lose yourself and see no one as your family. But then only to find out that your sibling did it for a good cause but right after you watch them die, I'm sure thats enough to send you over the edge.

Gaara, alright fair enough he has his brother and sister as his only family, but imagine your own father forces a beast inside you and then tries to have you killed. Your only purpose is being a weapon. You live in fear that your closest one wants to kill you. Your uncle who you thought was always on your side, tries to kill you. In Gaara's view at the time, he didnt know his uncle was always on his side but acted on the orders of his father.

Now Naruto, he lived his entire life without parents. Like Gaara, Imagine living in an area where everyone around you hates your guts and wants to see you dead and you don't even know why. Everyone you try to play with only for them to pick on you or their parents to take their child away from you and look at you with hatred and resentment. Then you suddenly do something good and all of a sudden people like you.

Too be honest, it's all about family. Some may have lost their parents but then they have others that care for them but instead they throw it away and use it as an excuse to go evil with the exception of Kakashi.

The first thing that comes up to my mind is Gaara….. His story is so sad and pitiful, no one really loves him back then and even one of the most important person that he thought sympathize with him turns to be traitor and betray him. His father is worst too!

Second is Sasuke.. Seeing his clan and parents being killed is really traumatized so I understand his feeling

Plus Itachi =C

I voted for Kakashi. Didnt expect most others to do so too.
Interesting.

Kakashi's life is more realistic compared to lets say Naruto and Sasuke.
Losing people you care about, struggles with yourself, changing your way views of life, due to your experiences.

Kabuto for me. I can really relate to problems with finding and accepting myself, even if it's mostly due to me being messed up in the head from birth and not due to how I grew up.

Agreed, I didn't expect Kakashi to receive so many votes. Just goes to show how well developed a character he is.
