Itachi is the smartest but he got played by Tobi and Danzo... Itachi is smart but his main quality is talent and heart, not intelligence. That price would be better awarded to Shukaku or Shikamaru. Or maybe even Kabuto or Orochimaru. Or let's not forget about Tobi! Those are the brains.

when? And i take back shikamaru its his dad. Itachi is probably the smartest person who has strength. For example someone like kisame or nagato have strength but dont plan it out. If itachi had the rinnigan then he would be stronger than nagato.

You cant say one is greater than the other both of shown intelligence when plotting for a battle long term, short term and heat of the moment.If anything itachi>shikamaru in knowledge that is the only way itachi if going against shikamaru in a test for most intelligent is greater.

+rep dude also if you noted shikamaru s first fight with hidan when asuma died he did nothing after he learn the enemy abaillity he did very well however itachi reads your intentions in battle and if you face him a secound time think about it if he can counter almost every move in the first time he encounters you in the secound you are fineshed
