Im not an uchiha fanboy nor am i a shikamaru fanboy. i admire both of thier intelligence. Your analysis on Itachi is very good i love reading ur thread +rep but Shikamaru is known as a smart ninja and a lazy ninja. Asuma said he has an iq over 200. 1 or 2 moves ahead of his opponent. He even says it himself that he have over 200 moves on Temari but he was low on chakra. During the chunin exam he was the only one to become a chunin, he was the captain during the sasuke arc, he analyize Hidan's abilities but fail to save Asuma. He learn from his mistakes and went after Hidan and Kakuza again. He know that Hidan specialize in using opponent's blood to kill them so he prepare a capsules. with the help of kakashi they were able to take down Kakuza the second time. He also set a trap before the second battle against Hidan. Kakuzu also quote that Shikamaru will go far in the future. Plus, Asuma's will is pass down to Shukamaru thats all the achievments i can think of.

Minato is far beyond prodigy meaning Above geniuses fool every opponent that he fought against and beat them without ever gotten hit once in his whole life not even tobi himself was in his league and was stated by A, jiraiya, kakashi, tsunade that there will never be someone like him anymore and A said that he believe no one can surpass the 4th meaning in fight overall brain, strategy weaknesses of jutsu in between second against tobi and counter and beat tobi, kakashi chidory weakness by seeing it for the first time and strength creating jutsu s/t, reaper death, rasengan, plaining his child whole life without making a mistake that is true intelligence and was feared by all shinobi, run when you see a flash if you can that is. Minato is first, itachi is second, tobi is third, shikaku, kakashi, and shikamaru.

You confuse some of Itachi's talent feats with intelligence. Some may fall in the same denominator, but some simply may not. Getting the 3T at a young age is not that much of an intelligence feat, he didn't had to formulate plans or study for it, he simply had the talent or gift to obtain it.

Also, he was lucky he was released from Edo Tensei. It was just one of those events in which he came across his back-up plan for Sasuke, though it was used on himself. Kabuto was surprised simply because he didnt knew about the genjutsu or what Itachi planned before.

Another thing is the Chibaku Tensei. "Oh no, something is pulling me toward it's center.... what can this possibly be?". Many characters with 4-5 intelligence would understand that they are being subjugated to gravitational forces, and I believe they would also understand that they would need to destroy the center to do so. People like Shikamaru and Minato would have been capable of understanding such thing, but they wouldn't have been capable of destroying it regardless.

So, personally, my list goes like this:

1. Minato
2. Itachi
3. Shikaku
4. Shikamaru
5. Tobi
6. Kakashi

Minato has done NOTHING I mean he predicted what Tobi will be doing future and almost spoiled that....he made rasengan.....he mastered sealing tech....he became one the youngest Hokage....beat tobi....and what Itachi done??? Tobi Itachi Minato Shikaku Orochimaru are all smater than Shikamaru. Shikamaru hasnt truly peaked. He still has a long way to go.

Made rasangan ? Making jutsu makes you smart ? Naruto made a just too, and he's an idiot. I acknowledged the fact that he beat Tobi, other than that he hasn't done much. What has itachi done ? Protected kohona by prolonging the 4th ninja war. Defeated chibaku tensai , decieved all of akotski , made a plan that would give Sauske ms, escaped edo tensai, set up a trap for Tobi after he was dead ect . Easily the most intelligent character, shikamaru is more intelligent than minato

I don't hat or dislike minato, there's just no reason for him to even be in the conversation. I think he's pretty cool to be honest with you, I like him more than itachi. But no you dont need intelligence to kill a bunch of people when you can teleport. I'm pretty sure I pointed out more than two things but im not going back to re read. People who say that Tobi is smarter then Shikamaru bcoz he planed event ahead and yadayada(using people is not intelligence). Think again, have we seen Shikamaru doing same thing? We don't know if Shikamaru would be more successful then Tobi. Just don't assume otherwise.

And all the point how Itachi stopped Edo Tensei is useless since Shikamaru don't have Eyes, skill and experience witch have nothing to do with Intelligence.

In the end Shikamaru is not a fighter . And you can't just compere him to anyone in Naruto
