Dude formed the Akatsuki, was the leader, and killed himself on a whim to save his friends. Mad props to Yahiko, he was like an ever bosser Naruto.

Sannin level by hype, good-guy ninja in a time filled with scum, and ultimately sacrificed himself so his son wouldn't have to live in shame.

Let's face it, he never got his two cents in, really. We all know Prime Hiruzen ROFLstomps everyone, no contest, but it would have been nice to see.

Got one-paneled, what a joke. Dude deserved some feats at least, I mean he was an MS user. But nope, just more fodder for Tobirama.

- Kimimaro

Had a single fight in part 1 on his deathbed, and still fodderized Naruto and just about soloed Lee and Gaara. He deserved some more than that.

Hanzo was more of an example of what happens when we the fan base overhype a character. Hanzo was said to be a very strong person and we saw that through his flashbacks as an Edo Tensei. It was our own interpretations of him however that made his actual abilities disappointing to most. So no, I don't think his character was put to rest early.

Normal ninjas can't really afford ripping their arms off like nothing right? And Obito didn't feel pain like he himself said. Normally the bugs also cause pain as seen with Fu.
