lol I doubt Yata Mirror could stand against 7 gates, yet alone 8 gates. I doubt Itachi would get the chance to wven pull out the mirror, not after the taxing Tsukiyomi he pulled on Kakashi.

Do you know how finger genjutsu works? Go back and read the chapters. It was stated that Itachi had already wove the signs for a genjutsu. When he pointed at Naruto, it was released. Itachi would have to weave the signs and point at Guy to trap him, but if Guy is moving at high speeds, or looking at Itachi's feet, then he won't be trapped.

You must not know Gai's power if you said that. Gai had to go 5th and 6th gate to fight a Kisame clone that was at 7.5% his chakra reserve (the clone started off with 30% but made 3 clones to hold down Neji, Lee, and Tenten. So no Gai cannot even beat Kisame even with 8th gate since the moment Gai gets close to Kisame (fused with Samehada) then he'll get all of his chakra absorbed since Bee had up to 6 tails of his reserve absorbed before he even hit Kisame. Plus the chakra Kisame absorbs heals him and if he's in water dome then he slows Gai down and speed himself up.

Gai would have to push Itachi and try to outlast him to make him die from his illness but Gai doesn't know about Itachi's disease or Kisame's fusion.

Counter to Yata Mirror: We saw you can go under ground and into Susano'o that way. We've seen you can't go through one without great force. Gai goes seven gates attacks(like a diving punch that turns into an uppercut) through the ground and comes up in Susano'o then Yata wouldn't be able to defend as it wouldn't be able to get inside Susano'o.
