Chapter 8 – Gunshots
Alice washes her bloody and dirty face in the lake near the town. Her clothes are still bloody, but she doesn’t care about that now. She finishes, and walks up the little hill. She looks down the hole she dug some hours ago, and sees her mother and father’s dead bodies.
Alice: Mommy… Daddy… you’re really not sleeping, are you?
Her eyes are red after crying, and her nails are gone after digging up the hole with her hands and sticks. She starts putting back the dirt she dug up to fill the hole again. She thinks back to her mother’s last words.
(Mother: Make the world realize that they are wrong… Show them that *cough* Milits aren’t any different… Show them your smile… Live on… *cough*)
She suddenly feels something weird about her hand again, and looks at it. It’s on fire, but she doesn’t react. She just stares at it.
Alice: Am I … a freak..?
(Lieutenant: Milits don’t deserve to live in this world, girl… You are one of them now… Nobody cares about the likes of you…)
Alice: …A Milit…?
It starts raining, and the fire on her arm extinguish. She puts the rest of the wet dirt in the hole, and walks back to the town. It’s night, and Alice is the only person walking in the streets.
She looks at where she used to live before, but it seems someone burned it down. She is soaking wet, but manages to find shelter. She slowly falls asleep.
-The scene switches back to the present-
Sarah: Alice has been through a lot the last 9 years… Treated like trash everyday… She hasn’t even slept in a bed since the day her parent’s died…
Luke doesn’t know what to say and looks down at his untouched drink.
Sarah: I never talked to her after that day… I didn’t have a choice…
Luke: Why are you telling me all this? I don’t even know you…
Luke looks confused at Sarah, and is waiting for her answer. There is a moment of silence before Sarah answers.
Sarah: I don’t really know… You guys seem to like her…
Luke takes his first sip from his mug. He looks out the window, as if his expecting someone to be there.
Luke: I don’t really care about her, but Skylar seems to-
Two men suddenly walk into the room, and interrupt Luke.
Unknown man 1: Excuse me, are you one of the outsiders…
Unknown man 2: …who came to this town earlier today?
They look almost identical. They are young men with black hair, and pale skin. One of them has a scar on his face, and the other is smaller.
Luke stares at them, and takes another sip from his drink. He puts it down at the table when his done.
Luke: Yes, I am… What do you want?
The two men start smiling to each other, and suddenly take up one machine gun each.
Unknown man 1: Oh, we just want…
Unknown man 2: …you dead!
Luke immediately stands up. They start firing all over the room.
-The scene switches to where Skylar and the Lieutenant are fighting-
Skylar jumps up, dodges another punch from the lieutenant. He lands safely a few meters away.
Skylar: What’s that sound?
Both of them stop fighting, and look at the direction of the hotel.
Skylar: Gunshots?
Lieutenant John: Hmpf, seems like my sergeants finally found the other outsider…

Chapter 8 – Gunshots
