Chapter 35 - "Kidnapped"
The three members of Skylar’s unnamed cowboy group walks around the big capital, looking for their leader who didn’t show up at the meeting place.
Luke: Jeez, where is that guy now? He said he would meet us, didn’t he?
Mia has the same expression as the annoyed Luke, and is the only one who seems to be looking around after him; hoping to find him before the sun goes down.
Mia: Yeah, he heard us, but what did you expect from a guy like that?
She suddenly notices something moving on the roof above them, and stops up to see what it is; curious and surprised to see that someone is up there.
Mia: Huh? What’s that?
The others take look at the roof too, and it takes several seconds before they recognize what it is. They stare somewhat unsurprised at Skylar who has his head stuck through the roof of the small house, and he seems to be trying his best to get it loose.
Alice: Ehm, S-Skylar?
Skylar stops struggling to get out for a second, and continue when he recognize Alice’s light voice some meters away from him.
Skylar: A-Alice, is that you!? Someone threw me, and I was like flying, then I fell down here, and…!
They just stare at the struggling body without knowing what he’s talking about; confused and still unsurprised that they’ve found their leader in this situation.
Mia: Forget that; let’s just get him out of there…
-10 minutes later-
Skylar runs through the streets again; running toward Lance’s workshop with the three others chasing after him.
Luke: Skylar! Why running like this!?
He suddenly sees the workshop he was thrown out of, and tries his best to see if he can see some of the guys who got him stuck on a roof. He can see some people inside the house, and charges without hesitation.
Skylar: Gaaah! Damn yoooouuuu!
He kicks the first person he sees in the face while being in the air, but doesn’t notice it’s not one of the guys who attacked him earlier. He's a skinny man with a long brown beard, and he falls several meters to the other side of the room after the kick.
???: Frank!!
The second guy, who is somewhat fatter and has long blonde hair, runs over to this so called Frank after seeing him being kicked by Skylar. He falls down to his knees while holding Frank’s hand; crying over the fall of his best friend.
Frank: Run Tom… Run for your life, and leave me behind… I’m done for… I can see the light now.
Frank holds his hand up in the air; imagining an angel coming down to bring him to peace from the terrible kick he was given.
Tom: I won’t leave you, Frank! We can get out of this together!
Skylar and the others just stand in the entrance; looking at the confusing seen the two of the crying men are making.
Luke: I don’t think a kick could have done that much damage…
Alice: That’s the homeless guys I gave my bread to earlier today…
Both of the men suddenly stands up with their hands in the air; making the peace sign with their hands and smile from cheek to cheek.
Frank & Tom: We’re okay!
There’s an awkward silence in the whole workshop, and Skylar and the group stares quietly at the two men who is posing in several seconds without moving a muscle.
Mia: I wonder about that…
The homeless men suddenly fall down to their knees again, and begin crying all over as if they just refilled the tears they had lost some seconds ago.
Tom: We need your help! Lance… The blacksmith here is missing!
Skylar: Ah, I know that…
Everyone from Luke to Tom looks at Skylar in confusion and waits patiently for him to continue his sentence.
Skylar: He was kidnapped by some random guys...
He says this short sentence with a smile; making everyone around him fall to the ground by his carelessness.
