Chapter 34 - "The Lightning Emblem"
The kid Lance works at the emblem he was requested to make while Skylar sits on a chair next to him looking at some of his working tools; both bored and impatient.
Skylar: …Finished soon..?
The hard working kid stops for a second and looks at Skylar as if this wasn’t the first time and answers after a long and loud sigh.
Lance: That’s the 6th time you ask me that… I’ve told you, I’m finished when I’m finished… You just have to wait!
Skylar gets back to the tools while mumbling in an impatient tone, and knows he have to wait patiently for the emblem. It doesn’t take long before Skylar asks the same question to Lance who has been sitting in the same position in an hour.
Skylar: …Finished soon..?
The little boy takes off his dirty goggle; making his eyes the only place which isn’t covered in dust and dirt. Both his eyes and hair is brown, and he’s wearing typical blacksmith clothes which is somewhat too big for him.
Lance: Actually I am… Take a look, do you like it?
Skylar excitedly walks over to the workbench, and takes a look at the emblem with the same feeling. The emblem is made of clear iron with the shape of a lightning, just the way he requested it.
Skylar: Aaaawesome! Thank you so much! Then I’m going-
Lance takes the emblems the second before Skylar does, and takes out his other empty hand towards the confused Skylar.
Lance: You still need to pay, you know…
They stare at each other in several seconds; one wanting money, and the other not wanting to give money. Skylar give off a smile and answers his questions a few seconds after a long silence.
Skylar: Yeah yeah, how much?
It doesn’t take a second before Lance answer to his question, and it makes Skylar take a few steps backwards.
Skylar: Fifty thousand!? You can buy like a thousand cans of beans with that kind of money!
They start arguing about the money, and the sound of steps coming towards them; coming from several unknown people.
Lance: What did you expect!? I’m known as the best, so my prices are obviously-!!
???: Excuse me, are one of you Lance the Blacksmith?
He gets interrupted by one of the people who walk in, and Lance looks the way the voice comes from; trying to shake of the anger from arguing with Skylar.
Lance: That’s would be me… What can I do for you?
He puts the lightning emblem in one of his pocket while answering, and walks towards them while sweeping some of the dirt from his face.
???: (Seems like the information we got was correct after all…) Daniel, you know what to do…
A very big man is suddenly in front of Lance, and hits him on the ground; making him unconscious immediately.
Skylar: Hey, what are you-!?
The same man grabs Skylar’s head and lifts him up in the air while clenching his fist lightly. Skylar tries to resist and talk at the same time, but can’t do a thing with his head grabbed like that.
???: Take the boy, then let’s head back to The Skyscraper…
Skylar is thrown out of the workshop through the roof after a few seconds of being grabbed by the head, and is now flying through the air.
