Chapter 26 - "Victory in Lisfro"
Skylar: … I will never let you touch them!!
Skylar stretches out his arm towards his enemy, and a laser made of electricity immediately shoots out from it; hitting Slate in less than a second.
Slate: (Shit!)
Slate immediately tries to stop it with his two hands, something he manages for a few seconds before the force sends him flying out of the half ruined house. He violently flies into the street and hits a post made of planks.
Both Luke and Kace, who are in the street, look surprised in the direction of Slate. Both have different reaction, one smiling and the other staring in shock.
Kace: Boss!!
Luke: Oh? Kace was it? Seems like you can still see with your eyes…
He pauses for a moment while still aiming both his revolvers at Kace who is still lying on the ground, and speaks up after taking a deep breath.
Luke: … and as you can see, your “boss” is clearly loosing…
A half unconscious Slate falls to the ground, and immediately tries to stand up again; which he fails to do. His clothes and arms are burnt all over after the lightning laser.
Slate: I-I’m not done yet… I’m n-not done ye-
He stops talking when he hears electricity sparks over him. He looks up in both fear and surprise; seeing Skylar in the air over him with his fist covered in lightning.
Slate: I-I-I’m not done-
Skylar only looks at him for a second before hitting him in the back with his arm covered in electricity; making the ground under them crack open because of the force. Not a sound comes out of the now unconscious Slate when his body is crushed down a few inches into the ground.
Random Man: I-I can’t believe it…
People who are hiding in their houses start looking and whispering even more than before. Some of them are calling The Military Force with their phones, and some others are hiding under tables in fear.
Random Man: …The 6 million bounty Sand Cowboys was beaten by this… unknown cowboy group??
Luke walks towards Skylar while dragging fainted Kace by his hair; smiling and gives off a small laugh.
Luke: Seems like you’re done…
Skylar stumbles to the ground after a few seconds, but manages to keep standing on his feet; holding his dizzy head in the process.
Luke: Hey, are you okay?
Skylar: Y-yeah, don’t worry… (I used my powers too much…)
Quick steps are suddenly heard behind them, which are Alice and Mia who are walking towards them. Alice is waving awkwardly to them, while Mia just walks with her hands in her pockets.
Mia: … You actually managed to beat those cowboys…
Skylar looks at her; sweeping off both sweat and blood. The arm on his white shirt is torn off, and some places on it are burnt and covered in blood.
Skylar: Bartender lady… These guys are indeed cowboys, but don’t get the idea that all cowboys are the same… All of us are different...
Mia’s attention is caught, and she looks at him while he continues to speak…
Skylar: ...Some attack innocent people for fun, and others want to change the world for the better… What I'm trying to say is that the word "cowboy" doesn't make us the same...
Mia: (Is this the same boy I talked with earlier today?? The boy who laughed about beans and acted like a kid…)
Planks creaking are suddenly heard in the direction of the saloon, and the group looks that way in curiosity; all staring at Mia’s father who slowly walks out of the saloon.
Father: … Mia, you won’t believe it, but I haven’t had a nap this good in ages…
