Chapter 21 - "Lightning vs. Sand"
Skylar: S-Sand?
Luke: So he is a Milit himself…
The sand around Slate slowly disappears, and Slate seems more pumped up than before.
Slate: Helping a woman who is against cowboys? Foolish! … Kace, Katherine, and Matt… You know what to do!
The 3 sand cowboy members start running towards Skylar and the others; ready to attack anytime.
Skylar: Alice! Take that bartender lady to a safe place now! Protect her!
Alice: Y-yes!
Alice is taken off by Skylar’s sudden order, but answers immediately. She helps Mia up, and starts running while holding Mia in her hand.
Slate: Katherine! Matt! After those two!
Katherine and Matt nods to Slate, and start running off in the direction of the other side of the town; trying to catch up to them.
Skylar: Oh no, you don’t!
Skylar jumps up, and prepares to hit them with his lightning fist. Slate’s sand suddenly hits him in the side of his stomach, and sends him flying through the house next to the saloon.
Luke: Skylar!
Luke runs towards the house Skylar went through, but is suddenly almost hit by a gunshot; which makes him stop immediately. It’s Kace holding a big rifle; reloading it while smiling to Luke. They look at each other in several seconds before Luke speaks.
Luke: … *sigh* Let’s just get this over with…
-The scene switches to Skylar-
Skylar lies on top of broken planks and tables, bleeding from his forehead. Slate jumps through the hole in the wall; seeing Skylar immediately.
Slate: How can a cowboy group with no name, no bounty, and as far as I can see no emblem beat us?
Skylar: Emblem?
Slate laughs at Skylar’s comment, and then shows an iron emblem hanging on his long opened white shirt, which is in the shape of an hourglass.
Slate: THIS is a cowboy group emblem… It shows what cowboy group you belong to, and every real cowboy wears one… You’re just kids playing a cowboy game, and-
Skylar: I told you to shut up, didn’t I? … You think cowboys are about names, bounties, or even emblems…?
Skylar stands up, brushing off dirt from his clothes and wiping off the blood from his forehead. More and more electricity suddenly appears again around him.
Skylar: ...Cowboys are about fulfilling ones dreams, and seeking the freedom they desire!
Skylar jumps towards Slate using the electricity to power up the jump; making him even faster. He covers his fist in electricity, and prepares ones again to attack.
Slate: …That’s a kid’s view of being a cowboy…
He moves his hand again; creating sand around him, and send it towards Skylar in high speed. Skylar manages to dodge it in mid-air and lands on the wall next to him, and jumps again towards Slate after that.
Slate: Useless…
He sends the sand towards him again while moving his hand. It barely misses Skylar; making him falls on the ground again.
Slate touches the ground, and seems to be waiting for something. The part of the floor made of planks slowly breaks up, and sharp spikes made of sand quickly comes up from it. Skylar jumps up in the air and lands on his feet on the ceiling.
Slate: Having some problems?
Skylar burst off some sand from his hair and clothes before he answers.
Skylar: Well… nothing I can’t handle…
