Chapter 19 - That's my question to you!
Mother Theresa screams in pain after being dropped on the ground by a falling Mia. She slowly looks at Mia after that; who has now lost consciousness.
Mother Theresa: …Mia…
They are soon surrounded by fire and smoke while they both lie on the ground; one with liver failure, and another unconscious.
Mother Theresa can feel fire touching her body, and the smoke makes her cough more than she did before. She looks at Mia again; who seems to be in as much pain as her mother.
Mother Theresa: …Mi-Mia….
She tries to stand up, but falls down immediately; vomiting up a combination of blood and yellow water. She thinks back to what the doctor said earlier about her own sickness.
(Doctor: Make sure she doesn’t move… It could immediately kill her.)
She wipes up the vomit, and tries to stand up again, feeling dizzy and nauseous. She manages to get on her knees, and starts crawling over to Mia.
She looks at her in several seconds before she lifts her up, and starts walking through the flames with Mia over her shoulder. The fire burns her skin in more than one place, and she slowly starts losing consciousness.
-The scene switches to outside the house-
Random man: Get as much water as you can!
Several people carry buckets filled with somewhat dirty water, and starts throwing it on the burning house.
Father: (…Theresa and Mia aren’t back yet…) I’m going inside to find my wife and kid!
The father starts running towards the entry to the burning house, but stops when he suddenly sees a shadow appearing in the fires.
Random woman: Look! Someone is coming out!
People all around the house starts watching in patient; preparing themselves to help the person who is on their way out.
The shadow walks out of the flames with a girl on its shoulder, and people starts looking in shock at it.
Random woman: Oh… my god…
Theresa is the one who walks out of the burning house with an unconscious Mia in her hands. The mother has second-degree burns all over her body, and most of her hair has burned off.
Father: Theresa!!
She falls over, and drops the unharmed Mia on the ground. The father runs over in both shock and panic; looking at Theresa. Her somewhat yellow eyes are open, and she shows no sign of life.
Random man: Help her now! …Where the hell is the doctor!?
The doctor from earlier that day shows up from the crowd, and runs over to the body.
He takes a glance at her, and immediately shakes his head.
Mia’s father stares down at the ground; confused with tears in his eyes. He suddenly hears a sound behind him, and looks at the ground behind. It’s Mia who just woke up; still dizzy and has a headache.
Mia: Da-Dad… Where is mom?
-Back to the present-
The Sand Cowboy Group leader, Slate, throws the small lighter which are turned, and is now heading towards the bar.
Slate: The house is so dry, so It’ll probably burn down instantly just by being in contact with fire…
Mia lies on the ground and watches the small lighter slowly falling down. She tries to catch it, but is grabbed in the hair by Kace, one of the Sand Cowboys.
She closes her eyes; expecting the worst. She listens carefully in several seconds, but nothing happens, and it’s quiet for a moment before Slate speaks up.
Slate: Huh? Who the hell are you?
Mia slowly opens up her eyes, and looks both surprised and shocked in the direction of the bar. Skylar and Luke are standing there, with Alice nervously in the background.
Skylar walks towards The Sand Cowboys with his big backpack, while holding the turned on lighter in his hand; which he crush to pieces immediately.
Skylar: …That’s my question to you…
