If you havent noticed most of the popular songs today talks about intercourse, disrespecting woman and promoting drug use and quick money schemes.... Whats the deal with that? Why do we still listen to this stuff?

Are you going for national election or something, I mean these kind of thoughts comes to a person when he tries to have attention to win a competition or to build rapport or something and if not then yeah you're right :win:

You talking about rappers and pop singers?
To be honest I don't know. Maybe because it's "in"?
I don't listen to those kind of music.
My kind of music is rather... dark. Death metal, melodic death metal, etc.

I don't listen to mainstream music. Since the beat, and pretty much everything about mainstream is shit. It's about money.

Sorry I listen to hardstyle.. That kinda BS does not apply in that music.
As much as I love hardstyle, going to have to disagree mate. There is one song.

This is the only one I have come across, but still.

Someone told me to try blood on the dance floor, I heard one song from them and I was just like "OMG? LOL? Wtf?" Just weird to be honest. I'm not gonna say the new shit is bad, it's not, some of the artists are good actually. but generally the mainstream ones are not that good. If that's what you like, I'm not gonna criticise you in any way, it is your preference.

Basically, I'm a heavy metal listener, I prefer both the new bands. and old bands like black sabbath, Metallica, deftones, iron maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC, dio's solo career, alive in chains, led zeppelin, pink Floyd, nirvana, etc. Now that is music, I also like some pop, not mainstream. Foreigners for instance.

I also like rap too, like MF doom, rakim, eminem, eyedea, J dillia, err I also like 3 six mafia lmao. Good rap music in general. Many people base rap one the same shit, but not really, some hip hop music and lyricists are very good actually.

You don't think rock n roll back then wasn't about drugs, *** and money either? It sure as hell was.

The oldies that we consider to be good, were hated back then by that generation who thought it was just degraded blues/jazz.

It's the same shit the mainstream music was about back before to, it's not new. The Doors, Rolling Stones, Prince, Madonna, ACDC, etc. the moto has always been "***, Drugs, and Rock n Roll", money got involved during the Jay-Z, B.I.G materialistic lyric style and has went from there.

Also when people get to that status of being extremely well known, most but not all don't try as hard with there music. It's different when you're an underground artist trying to make a name for yourself on an indie label where you have to pay 50/50 with the label for everything, you have to bring it everytime if you want to eat and have somewhere to live. While mainstream artists have millions of fans who will love anything you give them, plus they're still making royalties from old hits.
