[Theory] The meaning of D.

Recently I've gone back and read older chapters and saw that Don was a reccuring phrase such as Toms saying "Do it with a Don" as well as in binks sake . Also Oda is known to use many Latin references in his work .
This is my first theory so don't be to hard on me .

Sorry if I was unclear I meant the middle initial of D. in one piece .

Hmmmm. Interesting, is the Don basically nothing more than an Honorific title...such as something like Hanzo-dono, Hinata- Sama?

Just trying to make sure I follow the word's meaning.

If so it could be possible if the people with D. Carry some sort of high class level or royalty in the ancient civilization.

I'm also assuming some of the characters such as Tom or the Reference in "Binks' Sake" refer to a flag. I guess it is plausible that it may indirectly refer to the flag of the royal family or with some tie to the ancient civilization. Since their kingdom had fallen they would essentially exist as pirates.
