The Fire Goddess

Azure had lost himself in the endless waves of the sea. He wasn't normally emotional, hell the whole event he had described to the gang happened so long ago. So why now did it evoke such strong emotions inside him. Maybe he had grown soft. A million other thoughts raced though his head. Before he could ponder anymore he heard three children coming towards him, screaming his name. As they neared he noticed who they were. He quickly wiped his face and put on a huge friendly smile.

"Azure, azure why are you out here by yourself?" The youngest boy asked.

"Well I needed some alone time." Azure said as he rubbed the top of the boys head.

Rufus, Burt, and Mark the three immortals. The three boys had been cursed with immortality and to be forever children. The three knew they were cursed but they accepted it and who wouldn't wanna be a child forever. Rufus, the oldest at the age of eleven had medium length brown hair, his eyes were a light brown and usually wears mismatched clothes. Today he had on a yellow shirt with green pants. Burt, at the age of ten the middle child had short black hair, blue eyes and wears all black clothes. Mark, the youngest at the age of nine had blonde hair and his eyes changed depending on the angle the light hit them. His clothes consisted of the hand me downs of the other two. Today he had a light blue shirt on with dark blue shorts.

"Azure how long will you be staying?" Burt asked as he looked up at azure.

"I'm not sure. You boys know I'm on an important quest." Azure answered back.

Then all three boys sighed as that usually only meant for a very short period of time. The three boys had, for lack of a better word, grown up with azure. The four had become like family.

"Azure do you want to meet the fire..." Mark began.

"Hush Mark!" Rufus said as he glared at Mark.

"But the lady.." Mark tried to continue.

"Shut up!" Burt yelled at him.

"Boys, boys." Azure said trying to calm them down. "What's this about?"

Neither of the boys would look into azures eyes and they just stared at the ground. They seemed to be hiding a great secret.

"Boys don't make me tell your mother!" Azure threatened. At the threat the boys began begging and pleading.

"Fine!" Rufus finally said. "The other day we found a cave in the seaside. After much exploring of the cave we ran into a dead end. Dead end contained a sort of shrine, when we tried to approach it a huge fire erupted from it. Then a lady appeared inside the fire and spoke only one word, azure." Rufus finished his story and looked at the other boys but neither one was looking up, they seemed to have an ashamed look on there faces.

"Boys you have to take me to this shrine!" Azure ordered. The command was barked so suddenly that he boys jumped a little.

"R-right now?" Burt stammered.

"Yes, right now." Azure could barely keep his cool.

The boys after the initial shock nodded there head and started running full speed towards the cave. Azure could hardly believe it. He couldn't believe it was here the whole time. After only minutes they reached the beach and then the cave. How had he missed this cave for so many years? Had it been covered until recently? All these thoughts raced though his head.

"Alright boys go back to the guild, I'll be alright by my self" He told the boys. They each nodded and headed back, none of them wanted to meet the scary fire lady again. Azure entered the cave and found it to be abnormally light inside. So light that he could easily make out the walls of the cave. Azure pushed deeper and deeper into the cave. While the cave had many twist and turn it never branched off. After what seemed to be forever azure had finally come to the dead end the boys spoke of and just like they had said there was a shrine. Azure was hesitant to approach the altar but he knew that he must. He cautiously approached the shrine, as he neared it flames burst forth and seemed to envelope the room. The fires didn't burn azure, they were only warm. Then the lady of fire appeared before azure. In amazement azure went down on one knee and bowed his head.

"Stand azure, for we are both equals. Are we not?" The fire lady spoke. Hearing her command he stood up. As he laid his eyes on her he couldn't help but be stunned by here beauty. Her hair was red and fell upon her shoulders. Her eyes help a fire like no other. She wore a long flowing grown. Finally azure was able to speak.

"Hestia is that you?" Azure asked

"Yes dear. I'm surprised it took this long for you to find me. I told you I would be close to home." She chuckled as she said this, as if she had been clever. She had also floated down and stood in front of him. "You know what you are, right?" She asked him.

"Yes I do. I've known for awhile." Azure answered back

"Good you must never let whats inside of you fall into the wrong hands." She said as her face turned from a cheerful one to a stern one. "You know of the prophecy and that only you can stop it but it would be irresponsible of me not to help." Before azure could answer back the fire swirling around them immediately rushed towards hestia. As soon as the fire had vanished he looked at her and then at her hands. In her hands was a sword. the whole sword was completely black including the blade. She then handed him the sword and sheathe.

"The sword of a thousand fires." Azure said while marveling at the weapon.

"Yes that sword as been purged in a thousand fires. It has been held by many a man. Use her well." She said as she returned to the shrine. She then vanished from sight leaving azure alone in the room. Azure then strapped the sword onto his waist and headed back towards the entrance of the cave. While he was heading back the worst thing happened at the guild.

"What do you mean theres no more ice cream?" Dino yelled at the cook as she chased him around the dinning hall. The others were sitting at a nearby table laughing at the theatrics going on. Suddenly the two front doors exploded of there hinges and flew backwards hitting the back walls. Hundreds of grotesque things flooded into the dining hall, pushing everybody back. A horrible laugh started to fill the entire room. The laugh was blood chilling. The laugh was soon pinpointed, as the source entered the room. The man had a long black trench coat on and his hair, his hair was silver with blood red streaks. The mans mere presence had most trembling in there boots, as they knew this man, they knew him all to well.

"Sup bi*ches!" The man yelled.
