The Mangekyou's Powers

What decides the Mangekyou's powers? Is it decided based upon the person's justu knowledge or what they have copied?

On another note would it be safe to assume that the first son of the SO6P had all the Mangekyou's powers?

It could be that the son had all the powers and the Uchiha who came after him had a portion of his power. As far we know, we don't know. All we know is that as the ages passed, their blood thinned. It could mean that they got weaker or that the ocular powers kept degrading. It could also mean something entirely different. We don't know yet.

As far as I know though, Uchiha that awaken the Mangekyou have different abilities except the Amaterasu Sasuke and Itachi are both able to use. It could be that Itachi did transfer all of his ocular powers to Sasuke hence why Sasuke has Itachi's Amaterasu as well. Though it might've just been a one time only thing against Tobi.
